Atkinson Homes is excited to announce that plans have now been submitted for the next phase of development at Calvert Way, Keswick. Building on the success of the first phase completed in 2017, this new proposal continues our commitment to meeting the growing housing needs of the local community in Keswick and the wider Lake District.
The proposed development includes 129 new homes, with an impressive 123 designated for local occupancy — ensuring the long-term benefit of the scheme remains within the community. Most notably, 87 of these homes will be both locally connected and designated as affordable, helping to provide vital housing for families, young people, and key workers who might otherwise struggle to remain in the area. We are proud to be working alongside Home Group and the locally established, volunteer-led Keswick Community Housing Trust to ensure the affordable homes are managed with care and in line with community needs.
Offering a mix of affordable rent, shared ownership, and private ownership, the scheme is designed to provide genuine choice and long-term sustainability. This next phase has been shaped by identified housing need, with the priority firmly placed on those with a local connection.
We believe this development will play a crucial role in supporting the long-term future of the Keswick community, helping it to thrive for generations to come.
